The night sky was lit up by a rare Super Blue Blood Moon on 31 January, combining three lunar events dubbed the ‘lunar trifecta’ by NASA.
Skywatchers saw an extra big super moon (when the moon is close to the Earth and appears bigger and brighter than normal) a blue moon (the second full moon in a calendar month) and blood moon (when the moon appears red during a total lunar eclipse).
Look through this gallery to see the stunning photos of the supermoon around the world. Pictures of the natural phenomenon can be seen from London, Italy, Turkey, Israel, and the Czech Republic.
Views saw the moon appear up to 14 percent larger in the sky as it orbited the Earth.
Stargazers were dazzled by this rare event, the first in it’s kind since 1866.
