UFO author Anthony Bragalia is trying to uncover the truth about recent claims metal from UFOs was recovered during a top secret US Government UFO inquiry and stored at the premises of an aerospace billionaire in Las Vegas.
Mr Bragalia has requested documents under the US Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) after Express.co.uk raised questions about the whereabouts of the metal.
So far, no images have surfaced of the alleged material, nor have any details of where it was found, or any reports of tests carried out on it.
He says he is “willing and able to sue the US Government” if the information is not supplied.
Reports of the metal emerged this month after the New York Times revealed the US Department of Defense had run a top secret Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Programme (AATIP) Programme from 2007 to 2012 at a cost of £16.5million.
Mr Bragalia said: “I have FOIA requests with five US Department of Defense agencies for the release of test results on UFO alloys that have been reported by The New York Times to be in the possession of the United States government.”
The story broke earlier this month in the New York Times, when former intelligence official Luis Elizondo revealed Bigelow Aerospace was hired by the US Government to house in “modified buildings” strange metal-like materials recovered by military personnel as UFO residue, flotsam, shot-off pieces, or crash items.
The firm run by billionaire Robert Bigelow was paid huge amounts of money by the US Department of Defense to research the phenomenon and look after the “metal alloys”, according to news reports.
Mr Bragalia said: “This admission to the retrieval of UFO debris by the US military is historic.
“Details are scant on the precise nature of the material.
“In order to find and flesh out details on the debris, I am compelling several agencies to reveal all that they know about these possible alien alloys.”
When pressed, New York Times reporter Ralph Blumenthal told MSNBC: “They have, as we reported, some material from these objects that is being studied so that scientists can find what accounts for their amazing properties…its some kind of compound that they don’t recognise.”
In May Mr Bigelow stunned the world by declaring during an interview with primetime CBS current affairs show 60 Minutes, that believes that intelligent aliens are secretly living on Earth, and the government knows about it.
The UFO inquiry was run by military intelligence official, Luis Elizondo, on the fifth floor of the Pentagon’s C Ring.
Mr Elizondo, who resigned in October to form UFO research group To The Stars Academy with former Blink 182 singer Tom DeLonge’s, said that the effort secretly continues and that he has a successor, whom he declined to name.
No official reports on the alleged materials have been released, but it is claimed that research was also carried out on people who came into contact with the material to see if there were any effects on them.
The secret UFO project was originally funded at the request of former Senator Harry Reid, who retired from congress this year.
The Nevada Democrat, who was the Senate majority leader at the time, allowed the money to go to his friend Mr Bigelow’s company.
Express.co.uk approached Mr Bigelow through Bigelow Aerospace to try to find out what happened to the material, if he still has it, and whether it can be photographed, or if any reports or studies on it can be released.
Express.co.uk also contacted Mr Reid, and Mr Elizondo through To The Stars Academy, asking if they know what became of the materials.
All three have yet to respond.
