A strong earthquake registered by the USGS as M6.5 hit New Guinea, Papua New Guinea at 21:26 UTC on November 7, 2017 (07:26 local time, November 8). The agency is reporting a depth of 107.4 km (66.7 miles). EMSC is reporting M6.5 at a depth of 122 km (75.8 miles).
