The supposed UFO sighting was shared online by conspiracy theorist Scott C Waring, who runs the blog UFO Sightings Daily. The UFO-hunter claimed the video shows two “diamond-shaped” objects dashing across the Moon in a military-style formation. Mr Waring said the video is “100 percent proof” aliens are actively using the Moon as a reconnaissance outpost and permanent base. The conspiracist argued there is likely much alien activity taking place on the dark side of the Moon.
The UFO expert said: “A person in Edirne, Turkey, was observing the Moon through a telescope and was lucky enough to catch a great shot of not one, but two UFOs flying low over the Moon’s surface.
“Yes, I said that right. This object is actually two UFOs flying side by side, like a military wingman for USAF fighter jets.
“Both objects are diamond-shaped, yet one is twice the size of the other.
“If these were meteors, they would be leaving a trail of debris behind them and there is no way they would be perfect diamonds flying side by side.
“Now, I wonder, if the eyewitness caught this while observing for a half hour, then how often does this occur on our Moon daily?”
Mr Waring estimated there could be anywhere up to 48 such UFOs flying around the Moon over a period of 24 hours.
He said: “That’s a lot on only the side that we can see.
“Imagine it’s much more on the side we cannot see.”

However, not everyone who saw the bizarre video was convinced the mystery object was a pair of UFOs.
Michael Kozak commented on the YouTube video suggesting it could be the Lunar Obiter, which is a NASA spacecraft in orbit of the Moon.
And YouTube user CHANGED wrote: “Why is this so short? You don’t allow us to see it traverse the whole Moon but for a short second.
“I wanted to see if it kept going out of the frame or around the Moon to see if the object was in the Moon’s pull or halfway between the Moon and Earth.”
So, did Mr Waring really spot a UFO flying across the Moon? Without concrete proof, either way, it is impossible to tell.
But the most likely explanation is the flying object was a piece of orbital debris mistaken for a UFO due to a peculiar effect known as pareidolia.
US space agency NASA explained: “Pareidolia is the psychological phenomenon where people see recognizable shapes in clouds, rock formations, or otherwise unrelated objects or data.
“There are many examples of this phenomenon on Earth and in space.”
