The New Moon will vanish from the skies tonight to mark the birth of a brand new lunar cycle.
Because of this, astrologers associate New Moon energies with rebirth and starting from scratch.
Tonight, the transit Moon passes through the zodiacal sign of Scorpio – the eighth star sign in astrological charts.
This celestial combination is expected to be good for healing, self-discovery and passion over the next few days.
According to astrologer Heather Eland of Beyond Astrology, the New Moon will feel like a big “cosmic reset” for those born under the sign of Scorpio.
The effects of this energy will likely affect you in all areas of your life.
She said: “This is a great time to focus on what you love, what you need, what you want, what you desire in terms of play, in terms of hobbies, interests, passions, creativity.
“Its going to be in connection with your fifth house through Neptune which is transiting your fifth house right now.
“Whatever you want to start for yourself if you want to reinvent yourself, reinvent your self-image and do something different, change something.
“This is the time when you can really sit down, reflect, visualise it, feel it, experience it in your body and allow the events to unfold to manifest whatever it is you’re trying to create for yourself.”
But not everyone believes the New Moon is an entirely harmonious aspect ruling the skies today.
Astrologer Steve Judd, of Steve Judd Astrology, argued the New Moon itself is “pretty innocuous” but the effects of the New Moon horoscope are much more important.
He said: “The horoscope of the New Moon has an exact in-conjunction from Jupiter to Uranus.
“An in-conjunction is 150-degrees – sometimes called a quincunx.
“It’s what I describe as the itch you can’t scratch. It’s a niggle, it’s a frustration, it’s a problem that’s too big to be ignored but too small to be sorted out.
“So when I call it the itch you can’t scratch, that’s probably a good description.”
The astrologer said Jupiter’s basic principles govern truth, transparency, honesty and philosophy.
Uranus, on the other hand, symbolises “unequivocal change” which can be chaotic and unpredictable or stimulating and exciting.
Together, the combination might be problematic because Jupiter in Scorpio inconjunct Uranus will want to “dig deep” and bring out secrets, narcissistic traits and the more unpleasant things you are trying to hide.
Mr Judd said: “It’s going to bring up all the dark stuff no one really wants to look at and talk about.”
