Major dust storm hits parts of Texas and New Mexico


Powerful winds produced a major dust storm over parts of Texas and New Mexico on April 10, 2019. NWS El Paso station at San Augustin Pass east of Las Cruces recorded a wind gust of 102 mph (164 km/h).

NWS office in Santa Teresa recorded wind gusts to 60 mph (96 km/h) at 15:48 LT.  Visibility was dropped down to 1/4 of a mile (400 m).
