Four waterspouts formed almost simultaneously near a beach in Koh Lipe in the Andaman Sea, southern Thailand on November 25, 2018, stunning holidaymakers in the area.

This rare weather phenomenon took place just before noon (LT) near the village of Chao Lay and lasted for about 10 to 15 minutes.

“The weather here is very dramatic, because it’s an island in the ocean. Before the clouds came there was strong sun and it was hot. Then out of nowhere, the dark clouds appeared. Nature is so powerful, it’s amazing,” said Kim Puyu who took the following video of the phenomenon.

Weather Forecast Bureau spokesman said waterspouts were common in the Andaman Sea coast during the rainy season but that it was rare to have four of them at the same time.

All four waterspouts dissipated over water without causing any damage or injuries.
